How do I check my Native store on a phone?
Open your live store on your own phone and buy one product from start to finish, without zooming in. Every Native AI Suite storefront has a mobile version, so the question isn’t whether your store works on a phone. It’s whether your content does: your photos, product names, descriptions and banners on a small screen. The checks below take about half an hour.
Before you start
Use the live store, not the editor. Open the store at its public address, the way customers will.
Use a real phone. A narrow browser window on a computer is a useful first look, but it doesn’t show how text, taps and the keyboard feel on an actual phone.
Try two phones if you can, for example one iPhone and one Android, or one small screen and one large.
1. The first screen
Before you scroll, ask:
Can I tell what this store sells?
Is at least one product visible?
Is it obvious how to get to the catalog?
Large images often get cropped differently on a phone. If the main image cuts off your product, or text over the image becomes hard to read, choose a different image or shorten the text, then check again.
2. Find a product the way a customer would
Use the menu or search, not a direct link. Open a category, pick a product and read the name, price and description at normal size.
Product names: long names may wrap onto three or four lines. Shorter names usually read better on a phone.
Descriptions: put the most important details first. On a phone, few people scroll through long paragraphs.
Photos: check that the product fills the frame and that you can swipe between photos easily.
If you have to zoom to read something, the text or photo needs work.
3. Basket and checkout, with the keyboard open
Add the product to the basket and change the quantity. Then go to checkout and tap into each field.
Can you still see what you’re filling in when the keyboard takes up half the screen?
Are the buttons easy to tap with a thumb, without hitting the wrong one?
Are the delivery and payment options clear without scrolling back and forth?
If your Native store uses SMS sign-in, try signing in with your phone number as well, and check that the code arrives and is easy to enter.
4. Place the order
Complete the order and check what arrives on your side. If you stop at the product page, you never see the part where most problems show up: forms, payment and confirmation.
5. Check every language
If your Native AI Suite store runs in more than one language, repeat the first screen and checkout in each one. Translated text is often longer than the original, so buttons and headings that fit in one language may wrap or get cut off in another. For right-to-left languages like Arabic, check that menus, images and buttons sit where a reader would expect them.
6. Hand the phone to someone else
Ask a friend to find a specific product and get to the order confirmation. Don’t help them. Note where they hesitate or tap the wrong thing, fix it, and ask them to try again. Five minutes of watching someone else use your store tells you more than an hour of checking it yourself.
